Made is a Melbourne based business, our clothing is Made in Australia.
We started exploring our own range back in February 2020, we wanted to bring you quality clothing that would become future vintage pieces. Taking inspiration from the vintage designs of the 80's & 90's back when clothing was made local and made to last. We've designed and manufactured our own clothing line here in Australia.
We choose the name Made for a few reasons; the obvious Made in Australia and then 2020 what a year, our first launch was scheduled for July not December, we finally Made it.
Clothing manufacturing has declined across Australia over the last 40 years, with more and more manufacturing going offshore. Approx. 92% of fashion in Australia has been made overseas.
For us local manufacturing was really important, we knew there were so many benefits to manufacturing locally, quality control, engaging directly with our manufacturing partners, reducing our carbon footprint, supporting Australian businesses and keeping jobs in Australia.
Our goal is to bring you clothing made local, made to last and made for you.
Where it all began...the desire to create locally made clothing like the vintage pieces that we know so well.
